This category remains ever-popular for entries that demonstrate innovation in creative design and/or manufacture. Entries can be any type and scale of work where innovation has been the key driver in the making process. This could include hand fabrication, tools, production processes and techniques, technology, or in combinations.

Entrants will be able to select creative innovation through the online application process, where you will be required to identify what and how you have used to create your innovative entry. Failure to do this will result in your work not being judged in this section. 

Requirements:

Entrants to this section MUST identify and list ALL methods, tools, techniques and appropriate technologies employed in the manufacture of their entry.

•  Originality, creativity and concept

• Technical challenge and achievement - a proficient and clever or inventive use of tools, equipment, machinery and/or technology in a different, challenging or ground-breaking manner that informs the overall design of the piece. 

• Competent use of tools and materials

• Quality of construction & standard of finish

• Appropriate manufacturing techniques

• Practical and functional features

• A 100-word (maximum) description of what you identify as creative innovation in your entry and how you have achieved it.
