Sponsored by Stephen Webster
We are delighted to announce an enhanced partnership with our long-term and loyal GC&DC supporter Stephen Webster, who is sponsoring this Patron Named Award for the 2025/26 competition.
Stephen is revered for his fearless creativity and personalised statement designs, which offer more than meets the eye for his clients, fostering deeper connections and relationships with their jewellery.
This sets the tone for your creative challenge:
Fearless Creativity Beyond Boundaries
The Brief
This award invites entrants to push the boundaries of design by creating a 2D concept that can be interpreted both as a jewellery item and as a small works. Entrants should explore the transformative potential of a single idea, envisioning how it might exist in multiple forms while retaining a bold and cohesive identity.
For inspiration, Stephen Webster’s own works offer a precedent:
Gluttony, one of the Seven Deadly Sins, is reimagined both as a ring and a napkin holder. (See pictures below)
Waltz of the Wild, interpreted as brooches and as fine glassware. (See pictures below)
Designs should embody the Webster values of irreverence, wit, fearless creativity, and clever use of materials, resulting in a piece that is as intriguing in function as it is in form.
This is your opportunity to challenge convention, to create something surprising and bold – a design that embodies the Webster ethos of “No Regrets.”
