The Brief
C is for Celebration!
Create a design to be chased onto a sterling silver drinking vessel on the theme of Celebration.
On the first working day of every year, the United Kingdom’s four independent Assay Offices begin applying a new date letter as part of the Hallmark. For 2027, a year when the Goldsmiths’ Company – of which the London Assay Office is proud to be a part - will be celebrating its 700th Anniversary, the date letter is C.
On the theme of “C is for Celebration”, for this year’s London Assay Office GC&DC brief, we are challenging creative designers of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels to submit a celebratory design that can be chased onto a sterling silver cup measuring 120 x 260mm. The shape and profile of your 3D vessel will be of your choosing.
Entrants are warmly encouraged to choose a celebration that is personal or meaningful to them (it doesn’t have to be a celebration of the Goldsmiths’ 700th Anniversary!), creating a 2D design that will be seen in the 360-degree round that encourages the crafting of a beautifully chased silver cup in a celebratory toast!
Judges will be looking for
