The NAJT Bursary (National Association of Jewellers Trust)
Retail Discovery Day
We are delighted to announce a brand-new bursary in partnership with the National Association of Jewellers. The NAJT bursary is being provided through NAJ’s Educational Trust, and sits within and alongside the Ready to Wear Jewellery section sponsored by the NAJ in the competition.
The aim of the bursary is to provide award winners with the opportunity to engage in work experience in the retail sector from NAJ’s membership. This will be through the NAJ Retail Network, where a selection of independent jewellery retailers will provide an invaluable insight into their business and operations through a discovery day. In addition, the retail network’s facilitator, Steve Ennis, is offering one winner six x 1-hour coaching sessions, free of charge.
It is designed to help award winners have direct contact with the retail sector and gain a greater understanding of the world of commercial jewellery. This could include areas such as retail, sales, pricing, marketing, valuation, repairs, customer liaison etc. Equally, the bursary aims to foster a closer relationship between NAJ’s membership and GC&DC’s UK wide annual competition.
Award winner/s in the Ready to Wear (RTW) section will be eligible for this bursary, which will be decided by the judging panel, which will include representation from the National Association of Jewellers.
There will be a facility within the online application process for Ready to Wear entrants to select this invaluable bursary. The winner/s will be announced at the awards ceremony on the 8th March 2027 at Goldsmiths’ Hall.
